Predicting Weather with Clouds

Clouds are a way of predicting the weather. Clouds form everywhere and have different shapes. If you don’t have something like a Doppler radar or a T.V. nearby, weather can be predicted by clouds. In the olden days it was very important to predict weather with clouds. Today we have Doppler radar which shows us the humidity and winds which help predict the weather more accurately. There are different types of clouds, based on how high they are and how they look.

Cirrus is above 18000 feet in the sky

Alto is between 6500-18000 feet in the sky

Stratus is up to 6500 feet in the sky

Cumulosnimbus Cloud

Altocumulus Cloud

A common thing between some poor weather conditions is the wind is coming from NE to S because it means that there’s going to be precipitation in the next couple hours

Cumulus, which means heap or pile,

Cumulus clouds normally mean that the

Weather is going to be fair, unless the

Wind is blowing from the SW to the NW

Then there will mostly likely be a

Thunderstorm within the next couple

Hours.

Stratus, means spread out or flattened

Perception in the next 10-15 hours if

The winds are coming from NE to S

Otherwise only overcast

And heavy storms coming if at the tip of

A cold front

Nimbus, means storm clouds

As its meaning with these clouds it

Normally means that there is going to be

Some type of perception soon, depending

on the winds and other conductions, like

how high it is in the sky
